A Shot of Rhythm and Blues!

My Arthur Alexander disc finally arrived! Believe me, I would kill for some vinyl, but for now, CD it is.

Oh! It's glorious! He's the most important least-known soul artist of the early 1960's, I'm sure. You've heard so many of his songs, just not recorded by him. Which is a shame, because his voice is gorgeous. Dare I say it...the Beatles shouldn't have attempted to cover him! But I'm glad they did, because I never would have known about him if I hadn't been on the quest for the songs they covered in the early days.

Take a listen to "Anna (Go to Him)" right here.
